Tim Shelton on the 26 Seconds Campaign

Tim Shelton’s 26 seconds

Every 26 seconds a student drops out of high school in America. An unreal and sadly true statistic that affects a vast amount of high school students. It’s a reality that can be impacted by those who care enough to make a change. San Diego State University has one of these dedicated people who are willing to make a difference. Tim Shelton, number 10, is a forward on the nationally ranked San Diego State basketball team, but that’s not the only thing he can put on his resume. He is a big supporter of the 26 seconds campaign. A campaign that helps raise money for after school programs that help students stay in school and participate in extracurricular activities.

Tim Shelton has become a big part of this campaign and he has brought it to San Diego State University. As of February twentieth Shelton has raised 30,733 dollars, already exceeding his goal of 26,000 dollars. That’s an enormous amount of money to go to a great cause. If you donate 26 dollars or more you get a t-shirt in return. It says 26 seconds on the back and well as a blurb from Tim Shelton’s song “The Aztec Motto” and popular I Believe chant on the front. You have to give credit to some of the money made to the amazing Aztec community. Not only did members of the Aztec community, as well as the entire San Diego State basketball team buy a 26 seconds shirt but they showed their support by wearing them to the game against the New Mexico Lobos on Wednesday. Everywhere you looked you saw a black 26 seconds shirt, whether it be on the court or in the stands. Tim Shelton is doing an amazing thing. I asked him some questions about this 26 seconds campaign and here are his responses.
