When writing these lines, the request “Eliminate Amber Heard from Aquaman 2” created by Jeanne Larson has more than 37,000 signatures with a target of 50,000. The petition is addressed to Courtney Simmons, senior vice president of advertising and communications for DC Warner Bros and Paul McGuire, corporate communications for DC Entertainment.
The petition questions several news about the complaint filed by actress Amber Heard accusing her ex-husband Johnny Depp for domestic abuse, citing an incident in which Amber Heard is accused of hitting Depp twice in the face, as well as breaking the finger with a bottle of vodka, which made Depp need surgery.
Larson also recalled that Amber was allegedly arrested in 2009 for abusing a former partner as a pattern of bad behavior by the actress. Larson continues to call Amber Heard's abuse reports at the hands of Depp as false incidents, claiming that Heard is the abuser in the relationship.
"As Amber Heard is a known and proven domestic abuser, Warner Brothers and DC Entertainment have and must eliminate Heard from his Aquaman 2 movie project," says the petition. "They should not ignore the suffering of Heard's victims and should not give glamor to a domestic abuser."
An April news claimed that Depp tried to blacklist his ex-wife, Amber Heard, in Warner Bros, including work in Aquaman. According to the report, Depp is in a legal battle with his former lawyer, Jake Bloom. In relation to the lawsuit, several lawyers and senior executives received deposition notices, including former Warner Bros. president Kevin Tsujihara and billionaire Elon Musk. Amber Heard, who was married to Depp until 2017, was also treated.
The release of Aquaman 2 is scheduled for December 16, 2022. It will be written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick with Jason Momoa as the protagonist.
