Ed Sheeran added his voice to those who call attention to homeless deaths in the UK.

The mega-popular singer and songwriter has teamed up with the Bureau of Investigative Journalism, which counts people who have died on the streets of the UK over the past 18 months.

The 28-year-old Sheeran reads out the names of those who died, and also tells how part of the money donated to the Comic Relief annual fundraiser will be used for help.

“Homeless people have truly died in our streets over the past year,” Sheeran said. “I remember this well, the mother of two children, Anna, died in a night shelter. She was only 28 years old, this is my age. Aaron died in his tent on February 13th. He was 19 years old. "

“Mary’s body was found in a sleeping bag in a forest in Kent. Graham was found outside Poundland in Sheffield. Andrew's body was found in Blackburn.

“Over the past 12 months, these are just some of those people who died on the streets of this country in the 21st century.”
